Charli xcx — Boiler Room PARTYGIRL, Ibiza 2024

Filmed in 2024 in Ibiza for Boiler Room, this set marks the event’s return to the island, with the reins handed to Charli xcx as part of her PARTYGIRL series. A British pop star turned icon of the hyperpop scene, Charli xcx (Charlotte Aitchison) works here as a DJ, stringing together club classics and reworkings of her own repertoire in a supercharged atmosphere, in the thick of the campaign for her album “BRAT.” The set welcomes guests — George Daniel (The 1975), Alex Chapman, Zoe Gitter and The Dare — who extend the project’s abrasive party aesthetic. At the crossroads of pop and club electronics, this Boiler Room capture documents a cultural moment: the way Charli xcx turned club culture and the “brat” aesthetic into a global pop phenomenon. Faithful to Boiler Room’s immersive format, the video restores the heat and frenzy of an Ibizan night. A must-see filmed live concert for grasping 2020s electronic pop at its most festive.
