A leader of the Jamaican « reggae revival » movement, Jamar McNaughton alias Chronixx established himself in the 2010s as one of the most striking voices of contemporary reggae, blending roots, social consciousness and modern production. Before the audience of Europe’s biggest reggae festival, he unfolds a set carried by songs from his acclaimed, award-winning album Chronology: « Skankin’ Sweet », « Smile Jamaica », « Here Comes Trouble » and « Spanish Town Rockin’ » sit alongside more militant tracks. Backed by a seasoned live band, Chronixx alternates danceable grooves, spiritual ballads and pan-African messages, in a capture of great sound quality by Rockpalast.
