City and Colour — CBC Music Live, 2023

Live City and Colour concert for CBC Music Live, captured in Canada in 2023. City and Colour is the project of Dallas Green, a Canadian musician first known for the post-hardcore band Alexisonfire, who has built under this name an acclaimed folk and indie body of work, carried by a warm voice and spare melodies. In the careful setting of CBC Music Live, the artist gives an intimate performance in which acoustic guitar, harmonies and sensitive writing take center stage, far from big productions. The full concert showcases the most stripped-back side of City and Colour: melancholic, luminous folk songs served by a clear sound and sober visuals, ideal for highlighting the songwriting. Broadcast by Canada’s public broadcaster, this capture belongs to a long tradition of quality live sessions, in the manner of the great North American radio formats. For lovers of folk, singer-songwriter music and live acoustic sound, this filmed City and Colour concert offers a privileged listening moment with one of the most endearing artists on the Canadian scene.
