Why this recording

The Reggae Live Concerts channel, which keeps entire collections devoted to Benelux festivals (Reggae Lake, Reggae Geel, Reggae Rotterdam, Rastaplas), filmed and edited this Israel Vibration set at Reggae Lake Festival, with Frits Panday mastering the live sound. The title spotlights Living Legend, but the video runs over fifty minutes, the length of a full festival slot. It is an independent production, separate from the festival organisers.

On 15 August 2026, the legendary Jamaican group Israel Vibration took the stage at the Reggae Lake Festival in Amsterdam, one of the biggest roots reggae gatherings in the Netherlands. This filmed live concert captures a performance steeped in history: formed in the 1970s, the trio (later duo) embodies the essence of harmonised roots reggae, with intertwined voices and a spiritual Rasta message. Carried by a carefully engineered live sound (mastering by Frits Panday), the recording conveys the depth of the bass lines, the warmth of the vocal harmonies and the fervour of a won-over crowd. Over an authentic roots groove, the group rolls out a set marked by their classic “Living Legend” and the infectious energy of the stage. For fans of live reggae, roots reggae and Jamaican music, this filmed live concert offers a precious encounter with veterans still fully inhabited, in the summery, festive setting of Amsterdam. A living testimony to the heritage of roots reggae, passed on with conviction.
