Full live concert filmed at the Stade de France on May 16, 2009 for Kassav’s thirtieth anniversary. Before nearly 65,000 people, the group became the first French act to fill the Stade de France. Pioneers of zouk, born in the French Antilles, Jocelyne Béroard, Jean-Philippe Marthély, Jacob Desvarieux, Jean-Claude Naimro and the Décimus brothers unfurl more than two hours of hits carried by brass, keyboards and Creole harmonies. The evening, opened by Admiral T, gathered around a hundred guests. A landmark live performance, it testifies to the popular reach of a repertoire that made the entire Caribbean diaspora dance, from Guadeloupe and Martinique to Africa. Keywords: Kassav’ live, zouk, Stade de France 2009, Antillean music, full concert.
