Yanni — Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas, 2004

Full concert video of Yanni, « Live! The Concert Event », recorded at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas on 6 November 2004 and released in 2006. A Greek-born composer and keyboardist, Yanni is one of the major figures of contemporary instrumental music, at the crossroads of neo-classical, new age and world music. Backed by a large ensemble gathering a string orchestra, percussion, virtuoso soloists and musicians from various backgrounds, he unfolds a spectacular full concert blending signature pieces — « Standing in Motion », « Keys to Imagination », « Until the Last Moment », « The Storm » — and lyrical flights. The live recording restores the symphonic scope of his arrangements, the dialogue between soloists and the emotion of a borderless music, carried by a polished staging. The artist’s third live album, this filmed concert illustrates the universal, unifying dimension of Yanni’s world, which has brought together audiences worldwide around an open, cosmopolitan instrumental music.
