On 21 June 2024, British band Keane performed at the Pinkpop festival at Megaland (Landgraaf, Netherlands), as part of the tour celebrating twenty years of their debut album ‘Hopes and Fears’. Filmed in concert, this roughly seventy-five-minute set unfolds the piano-rock anthems that made Keane’s name in the mid-2000s, from ‘Somewhere Only We Know’ to ‘Everybody’s Changing’, by way of ‘Bend and Break’ and ‘Bedshaped’. On stage, Tom Chaplin (vocals), Tim Rice-Oxley (piano and keyboards), Richard Hughes (drums) and Jesse Quin (bass) deliver a generous performance, carried by unifying melodies and an undimmed voice. This live concert film is an excellent distillation of the band’s repertoire, drawing heavily on ‘Hopes and Fears’, ‘Under the Iron Sea’ and ‘Strangeland’. Before the crowd of one of Europe’s oldest festivals, this full set is a reminder of why Keane remains a benchmark of 21st-century British melodic rock — a warm, hit-laden live show.
