In 2025, Korn seized the Lollapalooza stage, in Chicago’s Grant Park, for this filmed live concert headlining one of America’s biggest festivals. Formed in Bakersfield in the mid-1990s, the band is regarded as one of the founding fathers of nu metal, the movement that fused metal, hip-hop and groove into low, syncopated sonorities. On stage, Jonathan Davis’s tormented voice, the detuned seven-string guitars of Munky and Head, Fieldy’s slapping bass and Ray Luzier’s drumming restore the raw intensity that built the band’s reputation. The capture unfolds the anthems that marked a generation, from “Blind” to “Freak on a Leash”, before a packed crowd. Thirty years after its debut, Korn demonstrates the longevity of a sound that lastingly influenced modern metal. A reference full concert for fans of metal and nu metal, to be seen as a filmed live concert to measure the energy of a festival set carried by a frenzied audience.
