Live capture of the annual Ladies of Soul concert, the Dutch supergroup gathered at Amsterdam’s Ziggo Dome in 2018. Around singers Berget Lewis, Edsilia Rombley and Trijntje Oosterhuis, and saxophonist Candy Dulfer, the ensemble pays tribute to their favourite pop and soul music in a grand staged show. This full concert of over two hours alternates covers of soul classics, spirited medleys and original songs, carried by a powerful rhythm section and horns, in the tradition of the great soul and R&B revues. The chemistry between the artists, the quality of the voices and the sense of showmanship make this now-institutional event a highlight of the Dutch music scene. For the soul enthusiast, this capture offers a generous and festive live concert, filmed in one of the largest venues in the Netherlands, where groove and vocal emotion take centre stage. A fine showcase of female soul talent in the Netherlands, served by ambitious stage and audiovisual production.
