PALO! — Miami Beach Bandshell, 2023

Full concert video of PALO! for its 20th anniversary, « Celebrando 20 Años », captured at the Miami Beach Bandshell on 16 February 2023. Grammy- and Latin Grammy-nominated, this Miami ensemble of Cuban and American musicians blends salsa, jazz and funk to craft a resolutely groovy Latin music. Led by singer Miriam Mar and keyboardist and arranger Steve Roitstein, the performance showcases a brass and Afro-Cuban percussion section as well as infectious stage energy. The full concert celebrates two decades of an original sound, rooted in Cuban tradition yet open to North American jazz and soul influences. The live recording restores the warmth of an open-air night in Miami, carried by a dancing crowd. A faithful document of an emblematic band of Florida’s Latin scene, this live concert offers a dive into a festive, blended and deeply alive music, at the crossroads of Caribbean and American cultures. Recorded before a dancing Miami audience, the anniversary set captures the warmth and virtuosity of an ensemble that has become a cornerstone of the city’s Afro-Cuban music scene.
