On 15 July 1989, Pink Floyd staged one of the most spectacular live concerts of their career in Venice, on a floating stage moored in the Bacino di San Marco, facing St Mark’s Square. Before more than 200,000 people crowded along the waterfront and aboard thousands of boats, the band performed the repertoire of their worldwide “A Momentary Lapse of Reason” tour. This filmed live concert, broadcast to around a hundred countries, captures the peak of the post-Roger Waters era led by David Gilmour. The full concert showcases the group’s vast staging: sweeping lights, projections and their signature immersive sound. It gathers several classics, among them “Time”, “Wish You Were Here”, “Run Like Hell” and “Comfortably Numb”. Beyond the music, the 1989 event made history in Venice, its global broadcast and civic impact sparking heated debate in the city. A key document of late-1980s live rock, presented here in its full-length form for fans of Pink Floyd and stadium-era classic rock.
