Porfi Baloa — Miami, 2025

Full concert video of Porfi Baloa in Miami, released in 2025. A Venezuelan pianist, composer and bandleader, Porfi Baloa is a historic figure of salsa romántica, notably known for his work with Adolescent’s Orquesta. Surrounded by a full orchestra — trombones, baritone saxophone, Afro-Caribbean rhythm section and a trio of singers — he performs his own compositions, including « Persona Ideal », « Me Negó », « Latino » and « Recuerdos ». The full concert highlights the melodic elegance and refined writing of an artist who shaped Latin American salsa in the 1990s and 2000s. The live recording restores the precision of a well-drilled ensemble, the warmth of the brass arrangements and the emotion of the great salsa ballads sung back by the crowd. A faithful document of Miami’s Latin scene, a global crossroads of the genre, this live concert offers a dive into a salsa at once danceable and sentimental, carried by the « sonido original » Porfi Baloa has claimed throughout his career.
