Full concert from the very first Sinbad’s Summer Jam, a festival launched in 1995 by American comedian Sinbad and originally aired on HBO, dedicated to the legends of 1970s soul and funk. Gathered in a Caribbean summer setting, some of the genre’s greatest names take the stage in turn — among them Earth, Wind & Fire, Gladys Knight, The O’Jays, Average White Band, War, Al Green and Frankie Beverly & Maze. This live capture conveys the warmth of an exceptional bill: flamboyant brass sections, unstoppable grooves, incandescent soul voices and joyful communion with the audience. A precious document for the aficionado, this filmed concert revives the golden age of funk and soul, played live by the very artists who wrote it. Beyond nostalgia, this 1995 full festival recalls the richness of a founding repertoire, between dance, commitment and pure melodic pleasure. An ideal dive into funk and soul performed on stage by their masters.
