On 25 September 2011, Slipknot set the Rock in Rio stage ablaze in Rio de Janeiro for a full concert that would go down in metal history. The Iowa band, then mourning bassist Paul Gray who died in 2010, delivers a performance of raw intensity before a frenzied Brazilian crowd. Masked and unleashed, the nine musicians run through a relentless set spanning their discography, from (sic) to Surfacing, taking in Duality, Psychosocial and Before I Forget. This full concert showcases the stage power of nu metal and extreme metal, driven by Corey Taylor’s vocals, Joey Jordison’s double kick drum and the band’s percussive arsenal. The capture conveys the physical energy and chaotic staging that make the group a live legend. An essential filmed live for metal fans, recorded during one of the historic editions of Rock in Rio in 2011, in front of tens of thousands of fans.
