Live concert film of The Cure at the Pinkpop festival, recorded on 26 May 2012 at the Megaland site in Landgraaf, Netherlands, and released by the festival’s official archive. Formed in Crawley in 1978 around Robert Smith, The Cure remains a reference of post-punk, new wave and gothic rock. This full concert of nearly three hours also marks the live debut of guitarist Reeves Gabrels with the band. The sprawling setlist mixes hits and rarities: « Plainsong », « Pictures of You », « Lovesong », « Just Like Heaven », « A Forest », « Lullaby », « Friday I’m in Love », « Disintegration », « Boys Don’t Cry » and « Close to Me ». Around Robert Smith, the line-up features Simon Gallup, Jason Cooper, Roger O’Donnell and Reeves Gabrels. Filmed in the midst of the Dutch festival, this live recording conveys the scale of a marathon set typical of the band’s concerts. An essential live concert film for rediscovering the dark, melodic world of The Cure on a major European stage.
