The Lumineers — Live on KEXP, Seattle, 2016

Full live session by The Lumineers, recorded for KEXP 90.3 FM at the Columbia City Theater in Seattle on 1 April 2016. Released by the Seattle public radio station KEXP, this recording accompanies the release of the album ‘Cleopatra’ and presents the Colorado folk-rock band in an intimate, largely acoustic setting, without a festival crowd. Over more than an hour, The Lumineers deliver a long fifteen-song set that blends their early hits — ‘Ho Hey’, ‘Stubborn Love’, ‘Flowers in Your Hair’ — with newer material from ‘Cleopatra’ such as ‘Ophelia’, ‘Sleep on the Floor’, ‘Angela’ and ‘Cleopatra’. Wesley Schultz (vocals, guitar), Jeremiah Fraites (drums, piano) and cellist Neyla Pekarek trade the vocal harmonies and organic instrumentation that define their folk sound. This filmed live concert, in the tradition of KEXP’s in-studio sessions, offers a carefully mixed sound and a rare closeness to the performers.
