This live concert is part of La Blogothèque’s “Take Away Shows” and features the Breton composer and multi-instrumentalist Yann Tiersen, known worldwide for the soundtrack to the film “Amélie”. In this second part of his session for the series, the artist performs two pieces, “Palestine” and “Amy”, in the intimate, roaming format that made La Blogothèque’s reputation. Far from traditional concert halls, the capture favours closeness and spontaneity, revealing the neoclassical, minimalist dimension of Tiersen’s writing, poised between piano, strings and experimental textures. Filmed by Nat Le Scouarnec with sound by JB Aubonnet, this performance illustrates the porosity between contemporary, folk and neoclassical music that characterises the artist’s work at the turn of the 2010s. A valuable document for discovering a major French composer in a stripped-down setting, far from the imagery associated with his film scores. An essential live for lovers of piano and instrumental music, captured with the series’ trademark intimacy.
