Live concert film of André Rieu in Vienna, recorded on the square in front of the imperial Hofburg Palace for the « Live in Vienna » show (2007). A Dutch violinist and conductor, André Rieu popularised the Viennese waltz and operetta repertoire for audiences worldwide. This full concert of about two and a quarter hours celebrates the great Viennese composers: Johann Strauss, Franz Lehár and Mozart. The setlist runs through « Wiener Bürger », the « Tritsch-Tratsch-Polka », « Gold und Silber », « Eine kleine Nachtmusik », « Perpetuum Mobile », « Schatzwalzer » and closes on the inevitable « The Blue Danube ». Rieu conducts his Johann Strauss Orchestra and choir, joined by the Vienna State Opera Ballet, the debutantes of the Elmayer dance school and soloists such as Mirusia Louwerse, Carmen Monarcha and Carla Maffioletti.
