Con Funk Shun — Cache Creek, California, 2017

Live concert by Con Funk Shun filmed in 2017 at the Cache Creek Casino Resort in Brooks, California. Formed in Vallejo in the 1970s, this American band is one of the pillars of late-1970s and 1980s funk and soul, with hits such as Ffun, Too Tight and Love’s Train. On stage, the group led by singer-guitarist Michael Cooper delivers a groovy, brass-driven full concert, blending danceable funk, soul ballads and polished vocal harmonies. Tight rhythm section, energetic horns and easy stage chemistry: the capture conveys all the warmth of a vintage funk concert played live before an enthusiastic crowd. This live concert brings back the infectious energy of an iconic band from the golden age of American funk, still active and faithful to its original sound. An ideal document for fans of 1970s–80s funk, soul and groove, captured in live conditions in the festive atmosphere typical of California casino venues. A feel-good full concert.
