In February 2025, American guitarist Cory Wong filmed a full concert film at L’Olympia in Paris, one of the French capital’s legendary venues. Known for his ultra-precise rhythm playing and his work with Vulfpeck, Wong unleashes a brassy, danceable, virtuosic funk driven by a full horn section. Around him: Tema Siegel on vocals, Yohannes Tona on bass, Kevin Gastonguay on keys, Petar Janjic on drums, and a powerful line of saxophones, trumpet and trombone. This filmed live concert strings together nervy instrumentals and unstoppable grooves (“Smokeshow”, “Sledgehammer”, “Home”) in a modern funk big-band atmosphere. The footage documents Cory Wong’s rhythm-guitar craft and his band’s infectious energy on one of Paris’s finest stages. A benchmark funk live for fans of rhythm guitar, groove and contemporary instrumental music, captured in 2025 at L’Olympia. From the slow-burning “Separado” to the explosive “Smokeshow”, the set moves through more than twenty tracks, giving each soloist room to shine while keeping the horn-driven groove at the centre. For anyone exploring modern funk and instrumental music, this Paris concert film is one of Cory Wong’s most complete live statements.
