Jungle — Live on KEXP, 2021

A full performance by British collective Jungle recorded live in the KEXP radio studio in Seattle on 23 October 2021. Led by its two founders Josh Lloyd-Watson and Tom McFarland, the seven-strong lineup unfurls its sunlit modern funk, drawn from soul, disco and boogie: layered keyboards, stacked harmonies, round basslines and dance-built grooves. The set runs through five songs — “Fire,” “What D’You Know About Me?,” “Truth,” “Keep Moving” and “All Of The Time” — representative of the album “Loving in Stereo,” released that same year. The capture, with KEXP’s signature sound, conveys the richness of the vocal harmonies and the band’s rhythmic precision in a live configuration. Between guest singer Andreya Triana, the versatile Jordan Hadfield and Geordan Reid-Campbell and the keys-and-drums section, this filmed live concert illustrates the collective alchemy that makes Jungle one of the safe bets of contemporary funk and soul, and a reference live capture for anyone exploring the genre’s modern, groove-driven revival.
