Daddy Yankee — Coliseo de Puerto Rico, San Juan, 2019

Filmed live concert by Daddy Yankee at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico in San Juan, drawn from the “Con Calma Pal’ Choli” residency of December 2019 and streamed online under the title DY2K20. A founding figure of reggaeton and a global icon of Latin urban music, the Puerto Rican artist celebrates a run of twelve sold-out concerts that broke box-office records on the island, with more than 170,000 tickets sold in a month. This full concert (second part) is packed with guests from the urban scene: Bad Bunny, Nicky Jam, Lunay and the duo Wisin & Yandel join Daddy Yankee for dancefloor anthems. Between perreo, dembow and big unifying choruses, the live set conveys the fervor of a captivated crowd and the stagecraft of an artist who turned reggaeton into a worldwide phenomenon. A choice capture for fans of Latin music, reggaeton and Spanish-language urban music, documenting one of Daddy Yankee’s last great concert runs before the pandemic.
