DJ Cassidy — Pass The Mic, Soul Train Awards 2022

Live performance of DJ Cassidy’s “Pass The Mic”, captured at the 2022 Soul Train Awards and released via BET’s official channel. The concept devised by the American DJ and producer brings together, for the length of a medley, a constellation of soul, funk and R&B artists who pass the microphone to perform their classics live, in an intergenerational celebration of Black American music. Driven by DJ Cassidy’s decks, the sequence chains emblematic songs and highlights the richness of the soul heritage, from pioneers to contemporary voices. This capture documents a high point of the ceremony, between nostalgia, vocal virtuosity and communion with the audience. Now a signature format of major American TV nights, “Pass The Mic” offers a living digest of the history of soul and R&B. A filmed live concert to savour for anyone who loves great voices and the festive spirit of Soul Train, an institution of African-American culture. Watch it in full.
