Blues Traveler — Perinton, NY, 2024

A full live concert of Blues Traveler in Perinton, New York State, on 17 August 2024. An American band emblematic of the jam scene and active since the late 1980s, Blues Traveler blend blues rock, improvisation and hook-driven songs, carried by John Popper’s virtuoso harmonica and vocals. This full show documents a complete set played outdoors, alternating recognisable hits with long improvised stretches, the band’s signature on stage. The songs stretch out, open up to harmonica and guitar solos, then return to the chorus: that is the whole art of the jam band. The capture highlights the interplay between the players — Chan Kinchla’s guitar, bass, drums and keyboards — and the sheer enjoyment of a group seasoned by decades of touring. For fans of blues rock, jam bands and American live music, this filmed live concert offers a generous, authentic record, far from short formats. An entry that brings a North American colour to Livconcert’s blues catalogue.
