On 1–2 November 2023, the British collective Incognito, led by Jean-Paul “Bluey” Maunick, recorded an exclusive “Studio Live Session” at Little Big Beat Studios in Liechtenstein. Pioneers of acid jazz since the 1980s, the band deploys its large line-up — backing vocals, horns, rhythm section — for an audiophile-grade live capture, later issued on vinyl and master tape. The programme blends originals and signature covers: the soul-funk groove of “Parisienne Girl”, “Still a Friend of Mine” and “Always There” sits alongside readings of Stevie Wonder’s “Don’t You Worry ‘Bout a Thing” and “As”. On stage, Bluey (vocals, guitar) is surrounded by Francis Hylton on bass and musical direction, singers Tony Momrelle, Cheri V and Natalie Duncan, and a rich horn section. This filmed performance conveys the danceable warmth and precision of British funk. A prime full concert for lovers of groove, soul and acid jazz.
