Captured at the Ribs & Blues festival in Raalte, the Netherlands, in 2026, this live performance features Livin’ Blues, a flagship of Dutch blues-rock led by its founder and singer Nicko Christiansen. Formed around the turn of the 1970s, the band made its name across Europe with tracks that became circuit classics, such as “Wang Dang Doodle,” “L.B. Boogie” and “Black Liza,” recorded in part with producers like Mike Vernon, the man behind the sound of Fleetwood Mac and John Mayall. On the Raalte stage, the group rolls out a sturdy blues-rock marked by saturated guitar riffs, Christiansen’s raspy voice and a groove inherited from electric Chicago blues. This multi-song filmed live set, shot outdoors at a Dutch event devoted to the genre, reflects the longevity of a band that keeps the European blues tradition alive. A live concert to savor for its no-frills authenticity, between sixties heritage and undiminished stage energy.
