Parkway Drive — Resurrection Fest, Viveiro, 2023

This full concert captures Parkway Drive at Resurrection Fest EG 2023 in Viveiro, Galicia (Spain), on 1 July 2023. The Australian metalcore band, formed in Byron Bay in 2003, closed the festival’s final day on the main stage, a decade after their first appearance there. Filmed and released by the festival’s official channel, the live set runs in full. Fronted by singer Winston McCall, the quintet moves across its discography: recent cuts from the album Darker Still (Glitch, The Void, Darker Still) sit alongside crowd-uniting staples such as Vice Grip, Idols and Anchors, Carrion and Wild Eyes. On stage, guitarists Jeff Ling and Luke Kilpatrick, bassist Jia O’Connor and drummer Ben Gordon drive a heavy, precise sound, framed by the pyrotechnics and staging now associated with the band’s shows. The atmosphere is that of a major European metal gathering, with walls of death and mass singalongs from the Galician crowd. For metalcore fans, this live concert offers a complete, faithful record of a festival headline set delivered at full force from start to finish.
