Full concert footage of Placebo at the Vieilles Charrues festival on 21 July 2006, on the Kerampuilh field in Carhaix, Brittany (France). The British trio led by Brian Molko was then touring the album “Meds” (2006) and delivers a dense full concert spanning its catalogue: “Because I Want You”, “Infra-red”, “Meds”, “Song to Say Goodbye”, “Follow the Cops Back Home”, the hits “Every You Every Me” and “Special K”, through to “The Bitter End”, followed by an encore with a striking cover of Kate Bush’s “Running Up That Hill”, “Nancy Boy” and “Twenty Years”. On stage, Brian Molko (vocals, guitar), Stefan Olsdal (bass, guitar) and Steve Hewitt (drums) unfold tense, melodic, electric alternative rock before a won-over festival crowd. This recording captures the energy of one of Placebo’s great live shows, at a peak of their career. Formed in London in 1994, Placebo built a devoted following across Europe with their androgynous image and emotionally raw songwriting, and the Vieilles Charrues crowd responds in kind throughout this set.
