Full concert « American Outlaws » by the supergroup The Highwaymen, recorded at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale (New York) on 14 March 1990 and later released as a live box set. A gathering of four legends of country and American songwriting — Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson and Kris Kristofferson — this filmed live concert strings together their greatest songs, both solo and in chorus. The set runs through « The Highwayman », « Ring of Fire », « Folsom Prison Blues », « Always on My Mind », « Me and Bobby McGee », « Good Hearted Woman » and « City of New Orleans », in an atmosphere of camaraderie and shared legacy. Rooted in country, folk and Americana, this quartet’s repertoire embodies a certain idea of outsiders’ America. This historic full concert is a major document for lovers of country, folk and singer-songwriters, bringing four now-mythic voices together on one stage.
