Alison Wonderland — Mixmag Lab LA, 2015

Live DJ set by Alison Wonderland filmed at Mixmag Lab LA in 2015, in Mixmag’s legendary studio-club in Los Angeles. The Australian DJ, producer and singer unleashes an explosive trap, hip-hop and bass music set, blending heavy drops, distorted bass and hip-hop samples. Captured close to the booth and the crowd, this performance illustrates the rise of the North American bass scene in the mid-2010s and Alison Wonderland’s distinctive style, at the crossroads of electro and club cultures. The Mixmag Lab format, designed for the camera, offers a direct immersion in the DJ’s craft and in the raw energy of an uncompromising set. This filmed live concert has become a reference for fans of trap and bass music, and a valuable record of the career of an artist who has since become a festival headliner. Worth revisiting for the intensity of the mix and the high-voltage atmosphere of Lab LA, captured in 2015 by Mixmag.
