Iggy Pop — Zitadelle Spandau, Berlin, 2025

Why this recording

Filmed by David Ctiborsky, credited alongside La Blogothèque, the Spandau show has nineteen chaptered songs. A landmark: “I'm Sick of You” stretches past eight minutes from 51:57, the longest stretch of the concert, while “Frenzy” and “Modern Day Rip Off” slot into the final third. Shot on 19 June 2025, the concert was only released by ARTE Concert on 25 November, in a full 1 h 26 version that ends with “Funtime”.

Simon Janvier, live-sound professional and editor of the catalogue

Filmed live concert by Iggy Pop at Berlin’s Zitadelle Spandau on 19 June 2025, part of the Citadel Music Festival and his Live 2025 tour — a symbolic return to the city where the Iguana lived with David Bowie in the late 1970s. At 78, the godfather of punk unfurls a blistering set drawing on The Stooges and his solo career: T.V. Eye, Raw Power, The Passenger, Lust for Life, I Wanna Be Your Dog, Search and Destroy. He is backed by his 2025 touring band (Nick Zinner on guitar, Joan Wasser on keys, a horn section). Full capture by ARTE Concert, streamed from November 2025. A live show of rare intensity in which Iggy Pop’s stage energy — bare-chested and unkillable — defies age. An essential full concert for lovers of rock, proto-punk and carefully filmed festival sets. The set spans more than five decades of career, from Stooges firebrands to the solo anthems of the Berlin period. A high-quality ARTE Concert capture, to be watched in full.
