Filmed live session by British collective Jungle in the KEXP radio studio in Seattle, recorded on 15 October 2014. Led by Josh Lloyd-Watson and Tom McFarland, Jungle had just released its Mercury Prize-nominated debut album, blending modern soul, funk and nu-disco in a highly visual aesthetic. This KEXP session, a multi-song live format, captures the band in an expanded line-up, with its rhythm section and signature vocal harmonies. The live concert runs through three emblematic tracks: “The Heat”, “Busy Earnin'” and “Time”. Between falsettos, syncopated grooves and vintage keys, Jungle proves the live strength of a project first perceived as a studio band. Captured by the KEXP team (host: Cheryl Waters), this filmed live performance illustrates the soul-funk colour of a group that has since become a reliable name on the British scene. Year: 2014.
