Latin American All Stars — North Sea Jazz Festival, The Hague, 1992
Complete live concert by the Latin American All Stars captured on 10 July 1992 at the Statenhal, as part of the North Sea Jazz Festival in The Hague, and posted by the festival’s official archive. This supergroup brings together four leading musicians of the latin jazz scene: Colombian saxophonist Justo Almario, Brazilian guitarist Ricardo Silveira, and the Laboriel family’s bass and drums, Abraham Laboriel (sr.) and Abraham Laboriel Jr. For close to an hour, the quartet unfolds a jazz rich in Afro-Latin and Brazilian colours, between virtuosity, groove and improvisation. A historic institution of European jazz, the North Sea Jazz Festival has hosted the genre’s greatest legends; this capture conveys its instrumental excellence and spirit of encounter. A benchmark archive document for lovers of latin jazz and festival music filmed in the 1990s. Live concert video, Latin jazz, complete live performance.
