Live concert of the ‘Música para la investigación’ gala, led by flamenco singer Miguel Poveda at the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona (Spain) in July 2017. This charity event, broadcast by Spanish public television, aimed to raise funds for the fight against cancer, benefiting the Asociación Española Contra el Cáncer and a research project of Barcelona’s Hospital Clínic. Around Poveda, one of the great voices of contemporary flamenco, a succession of prestigious guests appears — among them Ana Belén, Niña Pastori, Eva Yerbabuena, Ara Malikian, Vanesa Martín, Manuel Carrasco, Pedro Guerra, María Terremoto and Antonio ‘El Pipa’. This filmed full concert blends cante jondo, dance, poetry and Andalusian song in the sumptuous setting of the Liceu.
