Sue Foley — Live at Festival International de Jazz de Montréal, 2026

This live concert features Canadian blues guitarist and singer Sue Foley at the Festival International de Jazz de Montréal in 2026. Born in Ottawa and long based in Austin, Texas, Foley has been a fixture of North American electric blues since the 1990s, known for her incisive guitar work and her signature pink Telecaster. The video’s title points to her album “The Ice Queen” (2018) and her Texas roots, the “Austin Texas guitar blues”, though the full concert itself takes place on a stage of the Montreal festival in Canada. Her repertoire blends Chicago and Texas blues, original compositions and reworkings of the genre’s songbook, carried by expressive vocals and sharp, stinging guitar solos. The Festival International de Jazz de Montréal, one of the largest music gatherings in the world, regularly hosts blues and roots artists alongside its jazz programming. This live performance reflects the maturity of a musician celebrated with several Maple Blues Awards and a Juno, still rooted in the guitar-driven blues tradition she has championed on stage for three decades.
