Biga*Ranx — Chambre Noire, Radio Nova, Paris, 2020

This live session filmed at Radio Nova’s studios in Paris launched “Chambre Noire”, the station’s live broadcast show. It features Biga*Ranx, a singer, producer and pillar of the French reggae and dub scene, invited for the occasion in 2020. Far from big venues, this radio capture highlights the toaster’s world: reggae flow, dub atmospheres, electronic textures and a distinctive voice. Directed by Morane Aubert, with sound by Sulivan Clabaut and Juste Bruyat, the session offers an intimate, polished listen to an artist Radio Nova has supported since his beginnings. This live concert illustrates the vitality of the French reggae and dub scene, which has established itself well beyond France’s borders. The in-studio live format, stripped of the usual stage apparatus, reveals Biga*Ranx’s performance quality and command. An ideal session for discovering a major figure of contemporary French reggae, under privileged sonic conditions and the resolutely intimate atmosphere of Radio Nova’s “Chambre Noire”.
