Live classical-guitar concert bringing together the ‘Maestros of 50 Oak Street’, recorded at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in San Francisco and presented by the Omni Foundation for the Performing Arts, in 2021. The title refers to the address of the prestigious San Francisco Conservatory of Music, from which the four guitarists gathered for the occasion come: Sergio Assad, Richard Savino, David Tanenbaum and Marc Teicholz. The programme takes the form of a series of mini-concerts, offering a wide panorama of the guitar repertoire, from the Baroque music of Gaspar Sanz to the Romantic pieces of Johann Kaspar Mertz. This live captation highlights the refinement of the playing, the variety of timbres and the rapport of leading musicians in the warm acoustics of a church. For fans of classical music and guitar, this filmed full concert is a precious document: it gives access, in excellent sound conditions, to the excellence of the San Francisco guitar school. A live concert to savour for the purity of the repertoire and the virtuosity of the performers, ‘classical guitar full concert live’.
