Big Pollo — WOMAD Festival, Wiltshire, 2026

Full concert by Peruvian band Big Pollo, recorded on 25 July 2026 on the Village Stage of the WOMAD festival in Wiltshire, England. From Lima and active since the mid-2000s, Big Pollo champions a style it calls “chichafunky”: an energetic fusion of chicha — the electric Peruvian cumbia born in the 1970s — with funk, Afro-Peruvian groove and Latin psychedelia. Invited for the first time onto the main stage of WOMAD, one of the biggest world music festivals, the band takes the crowd on a journey between the reverb-soaked guitars typical of chicha, horns and danceable rhythms. This live capture illustrates the vitality of the contemporary Peruvian scene and its dialogue with international audiences.
