Grupo 5 — 50th Anniversary, Estadio San Marcos Lima, 2023

Live concert by Grupo 5 for their 50th anniversary, held at the Estadio San Marcos in Lima in 2023 and released via the group’s official channel. Founded in Monsefú, in northern Peru, in 1973, Grupo 5 is the country’s most popular cumbia orchestra, a symbol for several generations and a driving force of modern Peruvian cumbia. For this half-century milestone, the band drew a massive stadium crowd and staged a complete show: horns, keyboards, percussion and the voices of the Yaipén family running through the great hits that have shaped the history of cumbia in Peru. This capture documents the festive, popular dimension of the event, between choreography, guests and communion with thousands of attendees. An essential full concert for understanding the Peruvian cumbia phenomenon and the longevity of an orchestra that has become cultural heritage. A filmed live concert to enjoy in full, filed under latin, ideal for lovers of tropical, danceable music.
