Full set by Dub Inc at the California Roots Music and Arts Festival, in Monterey, California, in 2023. Formed in Saint-Étienne, the band is one of the spearheads of French reggae, known for its blend of reggae, dub, ragga and North African influences, and for committed lyrics carried by two singers alternating French, English and Arabic. This filmed live concert documents a notable milestone: the presence of a European band on one of the biggest reggae stages in the United States, before an American audience. On stage, Dub Inc unfolds the collective energy that built its reputation, between powerful riddims, brass, unifying choruses and messages of tolerance. The capture conveys the fervour of an open-air festival concert and the direct connection between the musicians and the crowd. It also testifies to the international reach of a particularly vibrant French reggae scene. A full concert ideal for fans of reggae, dub and cross-cultural music, worth discovering for the band’s live power and the warm, activist atmosphere that has characterised its performances for over twenty years.
