GOAT — Levitation Sessions, 2023

Full live set by GOAT for the Levitation Sessions, recorded in early 2023 in northern Sweden, near the Arctic Circle, in the studio the collective calls the “Eternal Temple of Time”. GOAT is a masked, mysterious Swedish collective from the village of Korpilombolo that blends psychedelic rock, Afrobeat, trance and world music into a fusion without equivalent. Filmed while the band was finishing its album Medicine, this session unfolds a hypnotic repertoire — “Golden Dawn”, “Under No Nation”, “Fill My Mouth”, “Do the Dance”, “Queen of the Underground” and “Let It Burn” — carried by tribal percussion, fuzz guitars and incantatory vocals. The ritual atmosphere, costumes and winter light make this full set an audiovisual as much as a musical experience. For lovers of psychedelia, trance and world fusion, this Levitation Session offers total immersion in the world of one of the most singular bands on today’s scene, captured far from anywhere, in an Arctic setting worthy of its music.
