KISS — Madison Square Garden, 1996

Live KISS concert at New York’s Madison Square Garden in 1996, during the Alive/Worldwide reunion tour. The event is historic: for the first time since 1979, the four original members — Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons, Ace Frehley and Peter Criss — share the stage again, in their original make-up and costumes. The tour, which became the most lucrative in the band’s history, turned every date into a celebration of the spectacular hard rock KISS invented: fire-breathing, blood, levitation and pyrotechnics backing a stadium-built repertoire. The full concert rolls out the 1970s anthems — “Deuce”, “King of the Night Time World”, “Calling Dr. Love”, “Firehouse”, “Cold Gin”, “Love Gun”, “Shout It Out Loud” — carried by the chants of a won-over New York crowd. Captured inside Manhattan’s legendary arena, this filmed live concert is an ideal document for reliving the triumphant return of KISS’s classic line-up, in the heart of a decade that saw the band reconquer a new generation of fans.
